Support for young people leaving care
We support young people leaving foster care (foster families, residential care institutions) on their way to an independent adult life. We offer help to everyone who contacts us – with no preconditions.
Entering adulthood after years spent in foster care brings many challenges at once: paperwork, finances, housing and work. We try to be a point of support during this period, offering specific, practical help rather than just good advice.
Who it is for
- ✓Young people who are leaving or have left foster care and are starting an independent life
- ✓People looking for a guardian or mentor to support their transition to independence
What our support involves
- ✓Contact and a first conversation – for everyone leaving foster care who contacts the Foundation, whatever stage they are at
- ✓Guardian and mentoring support – help with everyday matters related to becoming independent: official paperwork, budget planning, looking for work or housing
- ✓Becoming a guardian or mentor – for people who want to support a specific young person through this process
How to get in touch
Call (+48 513 269 821) or write to us (biuro@finaks.com.pl). We support everyone who contacts us – all it takes is a first contact, and together we will work out how we can help.
Why contact us
Leaving foster care is one of the most difficult stages in a young person’s life – suddenly you have to deal with paperwork, finances and job hunting on your own. Our experience of helping people in difficult life situations into work allows us to offer real, practical support at this stage.
