Support for non-governmental organisations (NGOs)

As a found­a­tion ourselves, we know how complex and distinctive non-profit accounting can be. We share this know­ledge with other NGOs that are just start­ing out or strug­gling with form­al­it­ies.

Ac­count­ing for found­a­tions and as­so­ci­ations fol­lows dif­fer­ent rules from ac­count­ing for a com­mer­cial com­pany – dona­tions, grants and paid and unpaid public be­ne­fit activ­it­ies are all treated dif­fer­ently. We help you un­der­stand these dif­fer­ences before they become a source of real prob­lems.

• ✓Small NGOs without their own ac­count­ing de­part­ment that need one-off advice

What our support involves

• ✓Free ac­count­ing and tax con­sulta­tion for new NGOs – one free meet­ing or call for or­gan­isa­tions op­er­at­ing for less than 12 months, cov­er­ing the basics of keep­ing the books of a found­a­tion or as­so­ci­ation
• ✓Edu­ca­tional ma­ter­i­als – prac­tical guides and tips on NGO ac­count­ing, re­port­ing and deal­ings with public au­thor­it­ies
• ✓Next steps – if an or­gan­isa­tion needs on­go­ing ac­count­ing ser­vices, we present our full com­mer­cial offer for NGOs
